Pupils attend classes 4 periods per week in both Year 11 and Year12. The syllabus followed is C.C.E.A.

Content covered:

Year 11: The Challenge of Jesus and The Christian Church studied through contrasting
Denominations.
Year 12 : Christian Morality.

Assessment:

There are 2 papers at the end of Year 12.
Paper 1: Externally assessed – weighting 52%
Paper 2: Externally assessed – weighting 28%
Coursework: Internally Assessed- weighting 20%

Homework

Pupils receive homework at the end of each class. It is in keeping with the GCSE standard and is usually a past paper question or a gospel passage to be learned. At this level pupils are expected to begin formulating their own opinions based on discussion in class.

Internal exams take place in December and June of Year 11 with a mock GCSE paper given in December of Year 12.
