Key Stage 4 ICT

GCSE ICT (CCEA)
Through studying the GCSE in ICT from CCEA, pupils become more independent and discerning users of ICT who can make informed decisions about its use. They have opportunities to acquire and apply creative and technical skills, knowledge and understanding of ICT in a range of contexts.

They also develop their understanding of new technologies and their impact on society. They take a practical approach, developing and evaluating ICT-based solutions of their own to solve problems. At the same time, they focus on ensuring that their practice is safe, secure and responsible.

GCSE ICT is a practical, skills-based qualification that builds on our Key Stage 3 Curriculum and provides a foundation for students intending to study ICT at a higher level.

Homework

Pupils in year 11 and 12 are given homework once or twice a week. This will consist of practice GCSE questions or research.

Pupils may use the ICT facilities during break and lunchtime to help to meet deadlines.

Pupils may move work between home and school using a disk or memory stick. These however must be virus checked before they are used in school. Memory sticks can be bought at most computer shops, including PC world, and a 512Mb memory stick or above will be suitable for storing ICT work.

Please use the 'Contact us' link above to find out more information, placing 'memory sticks' in the subject line.
