GCSE Chemistry

“GCSE Chemistry offers a range of activities which can engage all learners by linking direct practical experience with ideas, developing Key Skills and encouraging critical and creative thought, through developing and evaluating explanations.”

The course lays a good foundation for the study of Chemistry and related subjects at AS/A Level and is a valuable preparation for careers in industry, business, medical professions and pharmacy.

The subject content for triple award chemistry is divided into 16 sections and these are listed below:

  13. Metals and their compounds
  14. Non-metals and their compounds
  15. Water
  16. Organic chemistry

Assessment comprises of two written papers (75% of the total mark) and practical coursework (25% of the total mark).
