GCSE Music

There are three assessment components in this course:

1.         Composing and Appraising          40%      (Coursework)
2.         Performing and Appraising          35%      (Practical)
3.         Listening and Appraising             25%      (Paper)

Candidates must compose two pieces of music and perform (solo or ensemble) two pieces of music, related to one of the three compulsory areas of study:

            Music for Celebration;
            Musical Arrangements;
            Musical Traditions in Ireland.

Candidates must undertake a one-hour listening test related to the three areas of study.
