Media Studies GCSE
The Media are a central element of modern life. They provide information about the world, creating opportunities for commerce, education and entertainment. This specification allows students to systematically study modern media production through both the work of media organisations and through production of their own work. This subject encourages the recognition of the complicated relationship between students as consumers of the products of media organisations and as makers of personal meanings in that world.
The course achieves this through three distinct study areas: Media Texts, Media Audiences and Media Organisations.
