Irish

In KS3 pupils study Irish 4 times a week.

In the first year there is a lot of oral work but in subsequent years written homework is given once a week. There is a strong emphasis on communication through the use of games, music, drama and poetry.

Topics studied at KS3 are: myself and others, everyday life, school life, travel and holidays, shops and public services, health, house and environment.

Pupils are encouraged to participate in extra curricular activities which include Gaeltacht trips, and other activities promoted by Feis an Dúin, Gael Linn and Comhaltas Uladh.
