Through the study of real life situations and scenarios students are provided with opportunities to explore and express their own values and attitudes concerning human rights, social and economic responsibilities and develop an appreciation of the needs and perspectives of others. Assessment
Modules 1, 2 and 3 are externally assessed through an examination paper. Module 4 is assessed internally. In total 45% of assessment is external and 55% is completed internally.
Key skills:
All four modules in the specification provide teaching and learning opportunities to generate evidence for the nationally recognised Key Skills. The internal assessment provides a framework to enable students to meet the full portfolio requirements of the following Key Skills at Levels 1 and 2: Communication, Information Technology, Application of Number, Working with Others and Improving Own Learning and Performance.
