ST. Louis host adult ICT class

Following the attainment of Specialist Status for Technology and Computing, St. Louis Grammar School, Kilkeel have engaged in a variety of initiatives to promote Technology and Computing in the local community.
The latest initiative involved the setting up ICT classes for adults in the Kilkeel area. Delivered by Pamela Houston (Kilkeel Development Association) and Eamonn McGlue (St. Louis Community Co-Ordinator) the classes were set using the fantastic facilities in St Louis Technology suite. The class was attended by eleven eager adults and soon became a roaring success. Tim Brown (Director of ICT in St. Louis) guided the students through the fundamentals of the course over a five week period. The efforts of the students were handsomely rewarded with 100% success rate. All students will receive their certificates, endorsed by OCR later in the year.
Building on this success, St. Louis hope to host a similar ICT class next year as part of the Specialist Schools programme.
