Specialist Status


Two years ago, St. Louis Grammar, Kilkeel was designated and still remains the first only Specialist School for Technology and Computing in Northern Ireland. This reafirms St Louis' commitment to academic excellence as well as develping an effective partnership with the local community.

St Louis continues to work in Partnership with a number of Primary and Post Primary Schools Community and Business Partners.

Specialist Status benefits our pupils by:

  • Raising attainment for all pupils in the specialist subjects and across the whole school curriculum.
  • Offering continued, planned, structured professional development for all staff to ensure standards are maintained and improved.
  • Providing additional resources for example in ICT
  • Creating a context of e-learning which will extend from our pupils and staff to parents, our partner schools and business partners.
