Welcome to the ICT department
ICT is considered a valuable part of the curriculum here at St. Louis. Pupils
study discrete ICT throughout years 8-13. This equips them with the skills
needed to use ICT in all curriculum subjects.
Pupils use ICT as a cross-curricular skill throughout the curriculum. We have four ICT suites and a laptop trolley. Three rooms are equipped with interactive white boards.
Mr. Brown and Mr. Kelly teach ICT at GCSE and A Level. They are joined by Miss McCartan and Mr. White in the junior school. Mr. White will also be teaching modules of the OCR Nationals Level 3 in ICT from September 2011.
In ICT you will learn a range of essential skills and will also use audio and video equipment to produce your own films. Game Making is included at Key Stage 3 and GCSE. Pupils are able to access the ICT rooms in the morning and after school to complete homework and coursework.
Pupils in 6th form are allowed to use their own laptops or other suitable devices in the study room with permission from the ICT department. All internet access is filtered.
