St Louis Virtual Learning Environment

November 2008 saw the official launch of the new St Louis Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). The VLE allows pupils to access learning materials inside and outside of school 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year!

The staff of St Louis have been developing lesson materials and regular use is made of the VLE within a number of subject areas. These materials will be added to throughout the coming year. Pupils are able to: take part in online assessments; download materials; upload homework and coursework assignments which can be marked online; and take part in online discussions as members of a virtual learning community that extends beyond the school day.

The school hopes to develop a wealth of resources in the coming year and activities will culminate in a ‘Virtual Day’ on which one lucky year group will take part in online lessons from home. The VLE forms an essential part of the schools ICT provision which aims to make learning accessible ‘anytime, anyplace, anywhere!. Click the VLE icon below to visit the VLE. You will need to have an account which your teacher will set up for you.

External access

  • If you are looking for the old 'ICT Explorer' site click here.
  • If you are looking for the old learning resources then click here.

The C2K system installed in school allows access to your school 'My Documents', your school email account and the new VLE from home. All you need to access these features is your school user name and password and an internet connection ('Broadband' will be the best option when downloading large files).

To find out how to access all these facilities from home download the 'Easylink' document by clicking on the link below. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the document, this is usually pre-installed on your computer. If the document does not load automatically, click on the link below to get a free version.
