Welcome
to the Music Department of St Louis Grammar School, where
we can offer you opportunities to perform in a variety of
groups such as Irish traditional, modern and orchestral
in the instrumental sector, and a variety of singing styles,
old and modern. There are a number of choirs running in
the school, giving a chance for pupils of all ages and musical
ability to participate and sing. Visiting tutors offer lessons
in strings, woodwind, brass, piano, voice, guitar, and harp.
Music is offered up to both GCSE and A-Level standard.
Pupils are actively encouraged to partake in extra curricular
musical activities such as song competitions and local youth
orchestras. The array of musical talent plays a prominent
role in school events such prize-giving, open nights and
variety concerts.
Also
on offer is the chance to participate in musical dramas,
either as smaller works in Irish for the Irish Drama competition,
or as a whole school musical in English. Call into the Music
Room and find out more.
